Vote for us to play Warped Tour in Vancouver!

I know, I know, you’re probably thinking this is getting worse than the two years leading up to the US Presidential Election. You’re sick of hearing us asking you to vote for us, and not the other guy… but you don’t understand what is at stake! Your civil liberties are on the line if you don’t pick us. Not to mention the fact that we will pretty much do anything for you if you vote for us… as Phil always says “I’ll try anything.. twice.”

So here we are, one year later, asking for you to vote for us to play Warped Tour AGAIN. In case you weren’t aware, your votes last year actually won us a spot on the Calgary date! Enough Thank You’s can’t be said!!! It was a rad trip, if not rushed, and we would love to do it again this year! Until Kevin Lyman gets his head screwed on right, and asks us to play the whole tour, we have to resort to begging you to get us there! But we wanted to assure you that YOUR VOTE COUNTS!

So if you want to see us play Warped, of if you can’t see us cause you live too far away, but want to be a part of CHANGE, and help us out, then click here, and then click on the word VANCOUVER. If you don’t have a famecast acount, you will need to follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Click here. You will need to sign up as a fan so you can vote.

Step 2: Confirm your account by checking your email.

Step 3: Click here to see our profile. Click the word Vancouver. Click the vote button when the Vancouver page opens.

Step 4: Repeat step 3 every day until the contest closes some time in March!

Once you are all set up and going, you can take the following embed code, and stick it on your myspace, or blog, or whatever, and promote us to your friends, and family, and have them vote for us too… or at the very least it will let the world know that CHANGE CAN HAPPEN!

Rare to medium rare…

On Febuary 5th, down at the Media Club in Vancouver, we will be making a rare acoustic performance. It will also be our first acoustic performance, so it should be both awesome and fun. It is a Thank You show to Allana who has been a huge part of Vancouvers indie music scene over the last few years. Other performers are:

Waiting For Sunday

It all gets started at 8pm, and will set you back 12 shiny dollars.

Project iPod Takeover

We would like to introduce you to something we have decided to call Project iPod Takeover.

Read on to understand a little more about what this is, and why we’re doing it. This is a copy of our latest blog entry.

Dec. 5th 2008

If you are reading this, you are part of something that we hope will grow exponentially, something that we are starting one person at a time. We are OneStarCity, a band from Vancouver, British Columbia, and we are trying something that may seem a little crazy with our new album, Lion Fights in the Streets of Hollywood. We have had a lot of fun interacting with people on Myspace and Facebook, and we have been humbled, flattered, and amazed at the response we have been getting. People have been adding our banner, updating their status to rave about OneStarCity, and telling everyone they know about our band. This has been completely selfless, and so we would like to offer something in return.

We are going to give this album out to whoever requests it. All we ask in return is that you send it on to at least two (or more if you can) other people. We are going to be using http://www.yousendit.com to send a zip file of the album, and you can use that or any other method to spread it, whether you want to burn a copy, load it on a friend’s iPod, whatever.

We are not a signed band, and while we have complete control over what we do with our music, we want to give it to you. We would love to see you the next time we come through your city, and please buy T-shirts and other merch to help us get to the next city.

Calgary Warped Tour 2008!

We just got home late last night from playing our biggest show so far!

We found out last Thursday that we were one of four bands which had been selected from around 120 other bands all working for a spot at the show, so needless to say we were pretty pumped about playing!

On Tuesday afternoon we packed up and left on a 12 hour trip through the Rockies to play on the Ernie Ball Stage at the Calgary stop on the 2008 Warped Tour! We pulled into Calgary at around 3am Wednesday morning, and quickly fell asleep, only to awake again at 7:30 netting us a whopping 4 hours sleep!

We went down to Race City Speedway and checked in. The show was off the hook! We only got to play 4 songs but it was worth every penny in gas and molecule of emission into the atmosphere! We didn’t get to stay for the whole day because we had to get back on the road, so we left Calgary at 4pm and arrived back home safely at 3am.

Big thanks to the unstoppable Phil Maloney who drove every inch of the 24 hour trip… an unbelievable machine!

Huge thanks to every one who voted for us to play whether you were able to make it to Calgary to see us or not, we wouldn’t have been there without you!

And finally a massive thank you to everyone who rocked out with us, and stopped in their tracks to watch us play! You guys made the made it the most memorable show yet!

High five to Ernie Ball for putting on the contest that allows bands like us to to do shows like that! Amazing!

If you’ve found yourself here, it’s probably because you arrived by accident. This site is still being created which is why things are all over the place, links aren’t activated and everything looks as though it is completly out of order. We still, however, welcome you with open arms!

Since you’re here, you might as well check out the best section on this site so far which is the media section, cause we have a bunch of videos up there, and by a bunch I mean 4. There are a couple of recording videos, a live video, and best of all, our brand new video trailer for our new record, which is coming out in a few weeks! It’s titled Lion Fights In The Streets Of Hollywood, and looks like it will have 12 tracks…. Maybe 13! We might squeeze one more on there last minute.

We are taking a break from shows for a little bit while we finish up the record, but keep checking things out regularly, because like the lion, we act fast, and will get you when you least expect it!
